What Is Cloud Hosting?

When you upload one or more of your best web pages onto your hosting company’s server, they will put it on either one of them or they might spread that web site out over many servers.  This does a few things.  First, it enables much more functionality on your pages because it utilizes the expanded access to programs and scripts that might be running on one of those servers that is not as up to speed on one of the others.  Second, if one of those servers goes down, you still have some operability while they are getting that downed one re-booted.

So, instead of your stuff being on just one server, it is on many of them, or as it is called, you are on a cloud hosting platform.  Similar to the clouds that are integrated into the IT systems of many of the large companies to share information with everyone, the cloud is available to all at a predetermined price per share of space.
